Your tongue is as unique as a fingerprint

Your tongue is a critical part of your everyday life so it is important to care for it in the right way. Bacteria is present in all areas of your mouth so it is important to take care of your teeth, gums and tongue! However, the back of your tongue has the highest concentration of bacteria in your mouth and this bacteria can contribute to gum diseases, decay and bad breath. Taking care and cleaning your tongue can help to prevent oral health conditions and keep your mouth feeling and smelling fresh and clean.

It’s simple to clean your tongue. While brushing, use the back of your toothbrush and brush it front to back to remove any plaque present. Occasionally, inspect your tongue for the presence of red or white patches that aren’t healing, they may reveal a deeper problem.

This simple practice will keep your mouth healthy and smelling fresh.
